SeeID: Enabling Smart Environment in Early Childhood Education
using Long-Range Battery-Free RFID

SeeID is designed to revolutionize early childhood education by enabling novel smart
environment applications. SeeID attaches RFID tags to clothes and objects and captures their
unique RF signatures to enable motion and object interaction sensing. By applying signal
processing and machine learning techniques, SeeID understands children’s daily activities and
enables the following applications:
1. Exercise monitoring: Monitor and quantify physical exercises to prevent health related issues
(e.g. obese)

2. Interest analysis: Monitor children’s interactions with educational tools to understand their
level of interest and improve educational methods.

3. Interactive play: Enable engaging playing and learning experience through audio or visual
feedback.
